Gary Neville has said he still wants Mauricio Pochettino to become Manchester United’s new manager amid speculation about Erik ten Hag this week.
Pochettino and Ten Hag have long been seen as favorites. To take over the job as Manchester United’s permanent manager. With Ralph Rangnick leaving at the end of the season.
The former Red Devils defender has also long backed Pochettino. That he should be the man to take over the job at Old Trafford on a permanent basis,
however, questions have arisen. On whether Pochettino will be the right man for the title following Paris Saint-Germain’s disappointing exit from the Champions League,
Neville still chooses Pochettino over him. Ten Hag, though not a fan favorite option.
“Personally, I’d pick Pochettino but Ten Hag is someone Man Utd fans absolutely love to take the club forward. If only there was a clear choice between the two,” Neville posted on his tweet.
The fans also argued with PSG’s performance at the moment, but Neville replied: “Yes! I also saw PSG in the Tuchel era eliminated against us as well. He’s doing okay.”
Reports this week said Ten Hag had held talks with Manchester United as the club began moving in search of a new permanent manager, the
Ufabet reported, citing sources with multiple interview options. The target list also includes Pochettino, Julen Lopetegui and Luis Enrique, with
Thomas Tuchel having also been linked but not a viable option and Ten Hag is now a contender for the bookmaker to take over the reins of Manchester United.
